There’s more than one way in.
Becoming a Journeyman Patternmaker at Anderson Global is a paid, DOL-registered career path. Whether you’re fresh out of high school, trade school, community college, or coming from another shop with hands-on experience, there’s a path that meets you where you are. AG pays 100% of MCC tuition, books, and fees along the way.
For candidates with no prior on-the-job training. Whether you’re coming from high school, a Career Tech Center, or community college (industrial arts or CAD focus), you’ll start at the beginning of the full DOL-registered program and learn the trade from the ground up.
View Apprenticeship Brochure →For candidates with applicable on-the-job training from another employer. You may also receive credit for relevant college coursework you’ve already completed that aligns with our program. You get a leg up — entering the apprenticeship with credit already earned.
View Apprenticeship Brochure →For experienced workers from a similar type of facility who have specialized expertise in a particular area — like CNC Machining or Finishing — but haven’t completed an apprenticeship elsewhere. Progress through a focused 4-class program, one step per class, to reach full journeyman rate.

Explore Our History →Engineering, project management, maintenance, and shop support roles.
Not every career at AG runs through the apprenticeship. Our engineering office, project management team, maintenance team, and shop support team offer non-union career paths with their own growth tracks — and they’re often the start of something bigger.
Our CAD Engineering team designs tooling in 3D using Siemens NX and runs casting simulations in Magma and ProCAST. There’s a clear progression from entry-level detailing through senior engineering: CAD Detailer → CAD Designer → Lead Designer → Simulation Engineer. Whether you start from a CTC CAD program, an Associate’s, or a Bachelor’s degree, there’s room to grow.
Our Program Managers own customer projects from quote through delivery — coordinating engineering, manufacturing, and customer communication to keep complex tooling programs on schedule and on spec. It’s a great fit for someone who understands manufacturing, enjoys solving problems across teams, and wants to be the connection point between AG and the customer.
Our Maintenance team keeps the shop running. From CNC machines to facility equipment and systems, our maintenance technicians troubleshoot, repair, and improve the equipment that makes precision tooling possible. It’s hands-on work for skilled mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problem-solvers who like variety and want to keep learning.
Our Shop Support team — including roles like Shop Assistant and CAD Detailer — is one of the best entry points into manufacturing at AG. You’ll support the shop floor across the full production cycle, observe the foundry tooling trade in action, and gain exposure to every part of the operation. Many of our shop support team members have used this experience as a springboard, moving on to become apprentices and build full skilled-trade careers with us.
